Mark Dumonski, MD
Dr. Dumonski was born and raised in Connecticut. Prior to joining Guilford Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center in 2010, he has gained extensive and diverse experience in the field of spine surgery. Dr. Dumonski completed his orthopaedic residency at Rush University in Chicago, where he trained with both orthopaedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons. Upon his graduation, he was awarded "Resident Teacher of the Year" by his peers, a reflection of his commitment to ensuring every patient and family a full and thorough understanding of a given disease process and its associated treatment options. Dr. Dumonski is one of only a handful of spine surgeons in the Greensboro area to have dedicated an additional year of training at a spine surgery fellowship following his residency. As a spine surgery fellow at Thomas Jefferson University, Dr. Dumonski gained valuable experience in diverse and complex conditions of the spine, again training with the world’s leading orthopaedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons. As a result of his truly unique and extensive training with spine surgeons of differing backgrounds, Dr. Dumonski enjoys treating a wide array of both “routine” and complex spinal conditions.
An avid athlete, Dr. Dumonski particularly enjoys running and has recently completed his 14th marathon. He also enjoys weight training, playing the drums on the worship team at Daystar Church, and spending time with his wife, Wendy, and his twin girls, Alexa and Brianna.
